Obedience

Obedient dogs are happy dogs! And the owners of obedient dogs are happy owners!
So let us make you and your dog happy at our obedience classes.

Puppy Group and Obedience Group sessions and 1-2-1’s are held in our field at St. Ives Cambridgeshire.

During Summer we hold group sessions on weekday evenings. In Winter sessions are daytime at the weekends. In addition to group sessions we also offer 1-2-1 training with day time and evening sessions always available.

Puppy Group is a six week course payable in advance. Puppies can come along once fully vaccinated and the vet has given approval, this is usually at around 12 weeks.  Obedience Group is for older dogs and puppies graduating from puppy class with sessions payable weekly. Training includes sits, downs, recall, stays, toy play, circle work, reward structure and reinforcement criteria.

If you are interested in joining agility classes with your dog (from 12 months old) we would recommend that you come along to Puppy Group or Obedience Group first where we cover a lot of the non-equipment based foundation skills (flat work) that will give you and your dog a good foundation for agility training.

Agility

Once you have mastered basic dog obedience you may want to take things to the next level and learn more about agility training.

Our agility training is based on positional cues and positive reward methods. Training follows a clearly defined handling system ensuring a consistent approach that will promote and reinforce your skills and your dog’s understanding over time.

  • Competitive and Non-Competitive handlers and dogs welcome.
  • Group sessions are 45 minutes and 1-2-1 sessions are also available.
  • Junior handlers are very welcome.

Dogs must be 12 months old to participate in agility training. Dogs should have a good level of basic obedience including waits and recall off lead. If you feel this is something you need to brush up on before joining an agility group you can join an obedience group first to get the basics in place.

Dog Walking

We offer a dedicated dog walking service for owners who need help exercising their dogs due to work commitments, illness and other time restraints.

We are very experienced multi dog owners and trainers who understand how to care for your dog to meet their needs and ensure they work, rest and play appropriately. We currently cover St. Ives, Huntingdon and surrounding villages.
